It’s long been held that women can tolerate pain better than men. (Even the TV show Myth Busters proved it to be true with several experiments.) So, when men and women come for a Brazilian Wax hair removal session at Dyanna Spa in New York, there is understandably more sound coming out the rooms where men are being treated.

In case you aren’t familiar with Brazilian Bikini Wax treatments for men, this hair removal procedure involves removing all of the hair surrounding the male genitalia. Hair on the butt and butt crack is part of the deal. The esthetician only removes as much hair as the man desires.

At Dyanna Spa in NY, our estheticians use one of two methods. One method involves applying warm wax to the appropriate areas, covering the wax with paper strips, and then quickly pulling off the strips. (That’s when one might hear a quick “YIKES!” coming from the treatment room.)

The other method involves Cirepil Blue Hard Wax. It is a method involving the application of wax to appropriate hairy places. When hardened, our esthetician simply peels off the wax. This treatment is for those with particularly sensitive skin. Sounds can, however, still be heard emanating from the treatment room ever so often.

To give men a fair shake, a Brazilian wax treatment is innately more painful for men than for women because the skin in a man’s genital area is looser and more sensitive. Removing the strips or peeling off the wax stretches a man’s skin more, and the pain is therefore greater.

Here’s the good news! The more times you get a Brazilian wax, the easier and less painful it is. After each hair removal treatment, the hairs grow back thinner and softer so its removal is faster and easier.

Last year we had the enjoyable company of Carlo Montagnino from the irreverent and funny website “Dog and Pony Show” whose readership voted that he should experience a Brazilian Wax treatment. He chose our Manhattan Dyanna Spa and Nail Salon for his waxing procedure.

If you prefer, you can combine the full leg wax treatment with our renowned Brazilian bikini waxing (normally $40.00) for only $65.00.

At our NYC spa, our “Full Leg Waxing with Regular Bikini Waxing” is one of our most popular spa packages. An esthetician applies our soothing wax formula to the entire leg, from thigh to ankle. Hair removal starts from approximately two inches from the bikini line, and includes the front and back of the thighs, knees, and lower legs. She then proceeds to remove hair from outside of the underwear line.

With our “Full Leg Waxing with Brazilian Bikini Waxing”, our special wax formula is applied as described above. For the Brazilian bikini waxing, out esthetician uses our Azulene wax formula to remove hair from both outside and inside the bikini line, including the vaginal lips and labia, and in between the buttocks if you wish. You can also opt for a “landing strip”, leaving a little strip of hair down the middle. Our estheticians use professional discretion to make you feel as comfortable as possible.

To ensure your health and safety, we strictly adhere to a “no double dipping” policy”.  We never dip the wax application spatula into the wax more than once.

For sensitive skin, we offer Cirepil Blue Hard Wax, a non-strip hair removal treatment, for an additional charge.
